Paul sailing with Chase Lurati of Victoria held out to win the Hobie 16 class in a light wind series.
The Hobie 16 class went right down to the wire with Paul and Chase finishing just one point ahead of Andrew Gough and Grant Jackson of Queensland. The two crews won all nine races between them and were the standout boats of the fleet.
Paul has been undertaking a comprehensive training program, sailing out of Pittwater in both the Royal Prince Alfred’s new Hobie Wave program and the Palm Beach Sailing Club to gain experience in the Hobie 16 Catamaran.
Paul also sails in Flying 11’s out of Manly and flew straight to Tasmania for their Nationals.
Paul’s sister Lisa and cousin Jason Waterhouse are the current ISAF Youth Champions and so he will have the best support possible in preparation for the next Youth Championships in Turkey.

2008 Tiger World Champions are Mark Laruffa & Daniel Sims
from Australia with Mitch Booth& Tiffany Baring-Gould from the
Netherlands, and Robbie Lovig & Lachlan Gibson also from
Australia.
