South Pacific Games - Samoa August 29/30/31 2007
Palm Beach Sailing Club's Upu Kila, sailing for Papua New Guinea has finished in 5th position behind two New Caledonian and two Tahitian teams at the South Pacific Games, Sailing Event, held in Samoa over 28/29/30 August 2007. Competition was fierce and as usual there was a mix of wind conditions from fairly light on the first day to boisterous SE trade winds on days 2 and 3. Upu is now right on race form and will be a force to be reckoned with next weekend at the NSW Hobie State Titles being held on his home territory of Pittwater. This should also be a great lead in to the Hobie World Championships in Fiji during early October. Watch this space ....
