Winter In Paradise Regatta, Port Stephens (PSSAC) July 2008
Port Stephens Sailing and Aquatic Club (PSSAC) again put on a great regatta. Palm Beach Sailing Club was well represented with 8 boats travelling away for the weekend. We were all in the 'Big Catamaran' class which was won by Mark Johnston in his A Class. Winds were definitely more suited to the lighter boats with max of only 15 kts and average speeds over the 2 days of 10 - 12 kts. This is a mixed regatta with 4 divisions racing together over 2 different courses which makes for interesting mark roundings and competitive finishes. The fine weather and good company all made for a great weekend away - put this one on your calendar for next year.
