Championship Races and Pointscore Races- How the scoring works

 

  Club Championship Series - Points scoring system for racing

 1. The series will be conducted over 6 Saturdays as nominated on the racing calendar, weather permitting.

 2. A series consists of a minimum of 1 race with a maximum of 18 races.

 3. Typically 3 races will be held on each race day. However additional makeup races may be held as announced at pre race briefing.

 4. The races will not be held in wind conditions less than 5 knots nor greater than 25 knots or other safety considerations.

     The final decision being made by the PRO.

 5. Additional races may be held on any championship day or nominated points score race day to make up cancelled races.

 6. The points are to be awarded to the actual skipper on each race day.

 7. The points will be awarded on the low points score system using a yardstick system.

 8. DNF/ DSQ will awarded on the number of entries on the day plus 1

 9. OCS will awarded on the number of entries on the day plus 1

10. Those not competing will be awarded the number of registered skippers in the club

11. The number of drop races will be, 1 race if 9 races are held, 2 drop races if 12 races are held, 3 drop races if 15 or more

     races are held.

12. Club members rostered onto the start boat will score their average points not including drop races for the races held on that day.

13. Results will be posted progressively throughout the series.

 

 

Club Point Score Series - Points scoring system for racing

 1. Same conditions as for club championship. Note no points are scored on the club championship race days

 2. The first 3 races of each day will count towards the club points score.

 3. The points are to be awarded to the actual skipper on each race day.

 4. DNF/ DSQ will awarded on the number of entries on the day plus 1

 5. OCS will awarded on the number of entries on the day plus 1

 6. Those not competing will be awarded the number of registered skippers in the club

 7 Club members rostered onto the start boat will scored as the minimum 1 point for each of the races held on that day.

 8. The number of drop races will be as a percentage of the total number of races held in the season - set at 25 %.

 9. Representation at a recognized regatta nominated on the calendar will score the minimum 1 point in each race towards the series.

     The onus is on the competitor to advise the race director.

10. Boats are awarded points in their respective classes (ie yardstick does not apply).

11. Minimum of 5 boats constitutes a class. If there are less than 5 boats they will be entered in a miscellaneous class using

     yardstick points scoring
