Event information
Beware the Bullets Regatta has a long history dating back to the 1960s, held on the most beautiful waterway in the world. That is according to Governor Arthur Phillip in 1788, and well known to the local Garigal mob for 40,000 years before that, and enthusiastically proclaimed by every Pittwater sailor ever since. Just ask us! ;-)
However, it can be a slightly tricky place to sail, which is why our club by-line is ‘If you can sail well here, you can sail well anywhere’. The ridgelines that run up each side of the estuary can make the breeze dance about a bit, and that gave rise to the regatta’s name - you have to get your head out of the boat and read the water: beware the bullets.
But that makes for a lot of fun, and some great excitement if you want to push it hard. Which is generally what catamaran sailors do by default!
Registration and NOR will be published in September, so put it your diary and we’ll see you there.
